JPMorgan paid out $3.6 billion in dividends in latest quarter

JPMorgan paid shareholders $3.57 billion in the form of dividends in the third quarter, up 15.9% from a year ago. The per-share payout was $1.25 in the latest quarter, up from $1.05 last year.

Based on Thursday’s stock closing price, the current annual dividend rate implies a dividend yield of 2.35%, which compares with the implied yield for the S&P 500 of 1.28% and the yield on the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF of 1.46%.
