Is the stock market open on Monday for Columbus Day 2024?

Columbus Day 2024, also celebrated as Indigenous Peoples’ Day in some communities, is tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 14.

Most banks in the U.S. and the United States Postal Service are closed for Columbus Day this year. But is the stock market closed as well? Here is everything you need to know about the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, and bond trading markets on Columbus Day 2024.

Is the New York Stock Exchange open on Columbus Day?

Unlike banks and the post office, The New York Stock Exchange will be open on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024.

Is Nasdaq open on Columbus Day?

Nasdaq will also be open on Monday. Nasdaq will not be closed again until Thanksgiving 2024.

Will bond markets be open on Columbus Day?

Unlike stock markets, bond markets will remain closed on Monday for Columbus Day.

This is because the U.S. Treasury is an arm of the federal government, and the federal government is closed on Columbus Day.
