Browns defensive back announces retirement plans: Report

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN)- A defensive back on the Cleveland Browns recently announced that the 2024 season will be his last.

On Monday, safety Rodney McLeod Jr. announced in an interview on NFL Network that he will retire at the end of this coming season.

McLeod Jr., 34, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent and joined the Rams in 2012. He won a Super Bowl title with the Eagles in 2017. He played for the Colts in 2022 and joined the Browns the following season. According to ESPN, McLeod Jr. has started in 143 of his 166 career games.

He suffered a season-ending biceps injury in Week 11 of last season with Cleveland.

ESPN said that the safety was awarded the Alan Page Community Award by the NFL Players Association for his philanthropic work in Philadelphia.
