Dow rises more than 400 points, on track to notch fresh record peak

U.S. stocks were picking up steam in late-afternoon trading Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising sharply.

The Dow was up around 440 points, or 1%, and on pace for a record high, according to FactSet data at last check. The S&P 500 was also on track for an all-time high.
