Stocks fell again on Monday after President Donald Trump renewed his online campaign against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 733 points, or 1.9%. The S&P 500 was down 2.1%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 2.6%.
U.S. stocks, long-term bonds, and the dollar were already falling on Monday as investors worried Trump may move to threaten the central bank’s independence.
