An area of low pressure that has been deemed Invest 93-L is currently drifting towards the west across the Florida Panhandle as of Wednesday morning.
The 8 a.m. Wednesday update from the National Hurricane Center keeps the chances of tropical development at 40% over the next couple of days.
Invest 93-L has been battling land interaction over the past 24 hours, inhibiting any further development or strengthening.

It will continue to move westward along the northern Gulf coast, away from Florida.
If it sags a little further south into the Gulf before heading to Louisiana, it may become a tropical depression.
If it continues to hug the coast, it will not develop.
This is shaping up to be mainly a rainmaker along portions of the northern Gulf coast, especially Louisiana.

Regardless of development, there will not be any direct impacts for Southwest Florida.
Scattered, mainly afternoon showers and storms continue across the region for the latter half of this week.
