The Dow was up about 140 points, or 0.3%, at around 43,380.
The S&P 500 was gaining about 19 points, or 0.3%, to trade around 5,880.
The Nasdaq Composite was rising about 80 points, or 0.4%, to around 18,624.
For the week, the Dow is on pace to slip 0.1%, the S&P 500 was on track to fall 2.2% and the technology-heavy Nasdaq was heading for a 4.6% drop, according to FactSet data, at last check.
