Donald Trump has claimed that immigration is a bigger issue for the country than the economy at an Atlanta rally on Tuesday night as Kamala Harris laid into him for his “fascist” policy platform.

“I really believe that the border and the illegal immigration and 21 million people, many of them criminals, is a bigger thing than inflation,” Trump said.

“We don’t want them in this country,” he later added. “We’re getting them too fast. And I think it’s bigger than the economy.”

Recent polls from Gallup and the Pew Research Center both indicate that the economy — not immigration — is the top issue for the majority of US voters. However, immigration does consistently rank among the top concerns.

Several peer-reviewed studies have also generally found there is no link between immigration and violent crime in the US, the Associated Press reports.

Kamala Harris continued her swing-state media blitz as she laid into Trump in an hour-long town hall interview with Charlamagne Tha God on Tuesday.

Harris said she is “going to” win the election, agreed with the host when he called Trump’s policy platform “fascist” and defended her own record during the Detroit event.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is speaking at Donald Trump’s rally in her home state of Georgia this evening.

The former president is scheduled to take the stage in Atlanta at 7:30 local time.

Greene told voters that this election is about the “federal government versus you.”

“It’s not white versus Black,” Greene said. “It’s not the right versus the left. It’s not man versus woman. It’s not rich versus poor. It is the federal government versus you.”

Harris talks about participation and Trump’s campaign being about ‘fear’

Kamala Harris to Charlamagne tha God on the importance of voter participation: “You can’t let anybody take you out of the game by not voting. The solutions are not gonna just happen overnight … the things that we want and are prepared to fight for won’t happen if we’re not active and don’t participate.”

Harris says Trump is about fear: “He is running full-time on a campaign that is about instilling fear not about hope.. Look what he did and saying that those legal immigrants in Springfield Ohio were eating their pets.”

Charlamagne asks why Harris allows him to call her the border czar when that wasn’t her role.

Harris: “If I respond to every name he called me, I wouldn’t be focused on the things that actually help the American people. And that’s my focus.”

Harris asked about reparations

A caller into Kamala Harris’s audio town hall asked the vice president about her stance on reparations.

Harris responded: “It has to be studied. There’s no question about that. I’ve been very clear about that position.”

She then pivoted to her plans for home ownership, small businesses, healthcare, and homecare that she believes would be especially impactful to the Black community.
