U.S. stocks were rising around midday Friday, as bank stocks lifted the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The Dow was up almost 344 points, or 0.8%, at around 42,798.
The S&P 500 gained nearly 35 points, or 0.6%, to around 5,815.
The Nasdaq Composite rallied almost 66 points, or 0.4%, to around 18,348.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. had the biggest gains in the Dow, up around 5%, according to FactSet data, at last check.
For the week, the Dow was on track to rise around 1%, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite were on pace to gain 0.9%, FactSet data showed.
